Trust and Surrender Prayer Plan

Nine days of prayerYour place stays on this device

The daily prayer changes each day. The accompanying prayers are repeated.

Day 1: Bringing your concern to God

Heavenly Father, I come to you with the concern that is hardest for me to carry. You know the people involved, the decisions ahead, and the things I cannot change. Help me speak honestly to you instead of hiding my fear.

Give me the courage to take the next faithful step and the humility to receive help. I place this intention before you and ask you to guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions today. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us: and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Day 2: Living this day

Lord Jesus, my mind often runs ahead to troubles that have not yet arrived. Bring my attention back to the day before me: the work I can do, the person I can love, and the duty I can fulfill.

When worry returns, help me turn to you again without condemning myself. Give me patience with my limits and wisdom for today’s choices. I entrust tomorrow to your care while asking for grace to live this day well.

Amen.

Day 3: When the way is unclear

God of wisdom, I do not yet see how this situation will unfold. Keep me from pretending certainty where I need discernment. Help me ask good questions, listen to sound counsel, and wait when waiting is necessary.

If there is a decision I should make, give me clarity and courage. If an answer must take time, sustain me through that time. When I am uncertain, help me stay close to you and continue doing good.

Amen.

Day 4: Releasing the need to control

Father, help me recognize the difference between my responsibilities and the outcomes I cannot command. I ask for the grace to act faithfully without trying to control every person or every result.

Teach me to listen before I insist, to offer help without taking over, and to accept the limits of my own plans. Where I have made mistakes, help me make amends. Where I have done what I can, help me rest in your presence.

Amen.

Day 5: Receiving help

Lord, pride and fear can keep me from telling others that I need support. Give me the humility to receive care, advice, and companionship. Help me recognize trustworthy people and speak plainly about what I need.

Bless those who make time for me, and teach me to be considerate of their needs as well. Let my trust in you open me to the ordinary ways help arrives: a conversation, a shared task, a wise decision, or a patient friend.

Amen.

Day 6: Waiting without giving up

Heavenly Father, some prayers remain unanswered in the way I hoped, and waiting can wear down my courage. Stay close to me in this unfinished part of my life. Help me bring disappointment to you honestly.

Keep my heart from bitterness, and renew my willingness to love, work, and ask for help. Show me the small signs of care I might overlook. Grant me endurance for the responsibilities of today and room to rest when I am tired.

Amen.

Day 7: Taking the next faithful step

Lord Jesus, help me choose one faithful action instead of waiting until I feel ready for everything. It may be a difficult conversation, a neglected duty, an apology, or a request for support. Give me wisdom to recognize what is needed.

Let my action come from love rather than panic. If I cannot complete the whole task today, help me begin honestly. I entrust the result to you and ask for the grace to do my part with care.

Amen.

Day 8: Making room for gratitude

God of goodness, help me notice what has sustained me during these days. I thank you for the people who have stayed close, for moments of rest, and for whatever strength has helped me continue.

Help me be grateful while speaking honestly about the concerns I still carry. Teach me to receive today’s good and share it with someone else. May my prayer include both what I need and what I have already been given.

Amen.

Day 9: Continuing in trust

Father, as these nine days end, I bring you the same intention with a heart still learning to trust. Some things may have changed; others may remain difficult. Help me continue in prayer and in the responsibilities love asks of me.

Keep me willing to seek counsel, accept support, and change course when wisdom requires it. I place my hope in your goodness and ask for grace to follow Christ, one day and one faithful choice at a time.

Amen.
