St. Charbel Prayer Plan

Nine days of prayerYour place stays on this device

The daily prayer changes each day. The accompanying prayers are repeated.

Day 1: Making time for prayer

Lord Jesus, help me begin these nine days with a sincere heart. Make room in my day for prayer, and draw my attention away from the distractions that keep me from listening to you.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, grant me faithfulness in small things. I bring you my intention and ask for the grace to seek your will with patience. Let this time of prayer deepen my love for you and for the people entrusted to my care. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us: and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Day 2: Listening in silence

Father, I come before you without needing to fill every moment with words. Help me become attentive to your presence and honest about what is in my heart. When my mind wanders, lead me gently back to prayer.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, teach me to listen before I speak and to make space for others as well. May silence renew my patience and help me recognize the duties and acts of love that this day asks of me.

Amen.

Day 3: A humble heart

Lord, help me receive correction without resentment and assistance without embarrassment. Show me where pride has made it hard to listen, apologize, or admit that I do not know.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, grant me a humble heart that is willing to learn. Let humility lead me toward service rather than toward harsh judgment of myself. Help me use whatever abilities I have with gratitude, and honor the gifts and experience of the people around me.

Amen.

Day 4: Faithfulness in ordinary duties

Heavenly Father, I offer you the ordinary work of this day. Help me carry out my responsibilities with honesty and care, including the tasks that receive little notice. Give me patience when work is slow or inconvenient.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, teach me to see faithfulness as a daily practice. Keep me attentive to the people affected by what I do. May my prayer strengthen my willingness to serve, rather than become a reason to neglect the duties before me.

Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Day 5: Prayer for those who are ill

Lord Jesus, I pray for those who are suffering in body or mind, especially the person I bring before you today. Grant them relief, appropriate care, and companions who take their needs seriously.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, give strength to families, caregivers, and clinicians. Help them listen, communicate clearly, and work together for the person’s good. Let my concern become useful support where I can offer it, and help me remain faithful in prayer when I cannot be there in person.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Day 6: Love for our neighbors

Father, open my eyes to the people I meet each day. Help me notice when someone needs patience, attention, or a practical kindness. Keep me from overlooking a person because I am occupied with my own plans.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, deepen my willingness to serve without seeking recognition. Give me wisdom to offer help respectfully and to listen when another person explains what would be useful. Let love of neighbor become a steady part of my life.

Amen.

Day 7: Persevering in difficulty

Lord, when prayer feels dry or a difficulty continues, help me remain honest and faithful. I do not want to hide my disappointment from you. Give me courage to keep seeking your presence and the support I need.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, strengthen my patience. Help me recognize when to persist, when to rest, and when to ask for counsel. May this unfinished situation deepen my compassion for others whose burdens also take time to carry.

Amen.

Day 8: Gratitude for received care

God of goodness, I thank you for the people and moments that have sustained me during these days. Help me notice the care I have received, including kindness that was quiet or easily overlooked.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, let gratitude shape the way I respond. Give me a generous heart toward those who have helped me and toward someone whose needs I can now meet. May thanksgiving remain part of my prayer even while I continue to bring you my intention.

Amen.

Day 9: Continuing to follow Christ

Lord Jesus, as these nine days end, help me carry prayer into the life that follows. Keep me faithful to the responsibilities, relationships, and acts of service that you place before me.

Through the intercession of St. Charbel, grant me a heart ready to listen and a will ready to do good. I entrust my intention to your care and ask for wisdom about my next steps. May I continue to follow you with humility, patience, and love. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

About this prayer plan

Prayer Library plan · Original English daily prayers

This nine-day plan was composed for Prayer Library. Each of nine consecutive days has a different prayer, followed by one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be, all printed below. Charbel and Sharbel are two English spellings of the same saint’s name. This is our own English prayer practice; it does not translate the Family of Saint Sharbel booklet or reproduce Patronessa’s text. The unchanged Patronessa booklet is also available as a separate complete PDF on this website.

Pray today’s prayer, then one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be. All four prayers are printed below.

Which version is this?

These are our own daily prayers to St. Charbel, not a translation of a shrine or publisher’s novena.

Can I print all nine days?

Yes. Print all 9 days includes the complete prayers for every day and the source information. You can also save a PDF through your browser’s print dialog.
