Protect Your servants, Lord, with the help of peace. As they trust in the protection of blessed Mary, ever Virgin, keep them safe from all enemies. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.

Most glorious St. Michael the Archangel, through your excellence among the heavenly spirits who attend the throne of the Most High, you held the first place and so received the beautiful name of Michael.

I ask you to obtain for our minds a true knowledge of God and of ourselves, so that, reflecting always on His greatness and our lowliness, we may serve Him faithfully in this life and afterward enjoy Him with you forever in the next.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Most zealous St. Michael the Archangel, fighting with your holy zeal against Lucifer’s pride, you drove him from heaven and bound him forever in the abyss.

I ask you to assist our souls and strengthen them with your power, so that they may overcome their passions and vices and resist the temptations of our common enemy.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Most faithful St. Michael the Archangel, by your example you kept in obedience to God all the countless ranks of holy angels who did not follow Lucifer’s pride.

I ask you to obtain perseverance in goodness for the just and true repentance for sinners, so that they may fill those places left empty by the fallen angels.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Most mighty St. Michael the Archangel, through your intercession and protection you freed the people of God from the harsh slavery of Egypt and safely led them to the promised land.

I ask you to obtain for us perseverance in goodness, so that, freed from the devil’s slavery, we may run without stumbling on the path of eternal salvation.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Most beloved St. Michael the Archangel, sent by the eternal Father, you comforted our Redeemer in the garden and witnessed the abundant sweat of blood caused by our sins.

I ask you to obtain for our heart a drop of that precious blood, so that, clear and pure in the eyes of our Creator, it may serve Him in this life and praise Him in eternity.

Most unconquered St. Michael the Archangel, you are that great prince of glory whose office it is to bear the unconquered standard of the King of ages: the most holy Cross of our Savior.

I ask you to help us always love our Redeemer’s Cross, so that, carrying it patiently in our spirits, we may give glory to the Lord who chose to die upon the Cross for us.

VII

Most vigilant St. Michael the Archangel, God entrusted to you the office of watching over every soul to be presented before the tribunal of Jesus Christ and of weighing souls on the day of judgment.

I ask you not to abandon us at the moment of our death. Defend us in that final agony from all the devil’s snares and attacks, so that we may breathe forth our souls into the hands of Jesus and Mary.

VIII

Most valiant St. Michael the Archangel, at the end of the world you will be the mighty champion chosen by the Lord to slay the wicked Antichrist on the Mount of Olives.

I ask you also to destroy and restrain all the vices and passions that tyrannize over our souls. Be our loving advocate and protector, so that we may at last come to enjoy God in the glory of paradise.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Most powerful St. Michael the Archangel, God appointed you guardian of the patriarchs, protector of the whole holy Catholic Church on earth, and steward of paradise.

I ask you to assist the Supreme Pontiff, the prelates of the holy Church, Christian kingdoms and principalities, and all of us, so that, by defeating the enemies of our faith, the Lord’s name may be glorified ever more by all the faithful.

Antiphon

Most glorious prince, Michael the Archangel, remember us. Here and everywhere, pray always for us to the Son of God. You are the steward of paradise, whom the citizens of the angelic realm honor. Honoring you brings blessings to the peoples, and your prayer leads them to the kingdom of heaven.

Verse: St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Response: That we may not perish in the fearful judgment.

Let us pray.

Almighty and eternal God, who wondrously appointed the most glorious prince Michael the Archangel as defender of Your Church: grant that, through his saving assistance, we may be worthy to be protected from all harm now, delivered at our death, and presented before Your eternal majesty in the company of Your saints. Through Christ our Lord.
