St. Jude Novena
The same prayer sequence is used each day.
Day 1: Prayer to St. Jude
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Most holy apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered thy beloved Master into the hands of his enemies has caused thee to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes thee universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things despaired of.
Pray for me who am so miserable; make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded to thee to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (here make your request) and that I may bless God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity.
I promise thee, O blessed Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor thee as my special and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to thee. Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us: and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace! the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

About this novena
Most holy apostle · Marchant (1929); selected prayers each day
For each of nine consecutive days, begin with the Sign of the Cross, pray the complete “Most holy apostle” petition, then pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be three times through, followed by the closing response. The repeated accompanying prayers are printed in full below. Marchant’s 1929 booklet permits a private nine-day practice at home; this page selects the central petition and its following prayers from the First Form. It does not reproduce the entire shrine service, its preceding invocation/dialogue, the separate prayer for a happy death or the Second Form litany. The day numbers and tracker are our layout. Shared accompanying prayers use the separately identified Baltimore Catechism wording. The closing response uses “thy aid” to correct the printed typo “they aid”; this correction is recorded with the source.
How many accompanying prayers are there each day?
Pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be three times through, then the closing response. These nine accompanying prayers are printed in full after the main petition.
Can I pray this selected practice at home?
The 1929 booklet permits a private nine-day practice at home. This page identifies the central petition and accompanying prayers it selects, rather than claiming to reproduce the full shrine service.
